AS YOU TRAVEL

  • tip a skycap or redcap $1 per bag
  • tip a bellhop at least $1 per bag
  • tip a concierge $5 for each extra service provided
  • tip a housekeeper $1 to $2 per night per person for long stays
  • tip room service 15% of the bill if gratuity isn't included
  • tip cruise personnel 15% of the cost of the trip, spread among them
  • tip poolside and beach servers $1 each
  • tip a tour guide 10% to 15% of the cost of the tour

DELIVERIES

  • tip a grocery delivery person $1 per bag
  • tip a pizza delivery person $1 per pizza
  • tip a meal delivery person 15% of the bill
  • tip a flower delivery person $2 to $5
  • tip a furniture or appliance delivery person $5 to $20, depending on difficulty
  • tip newspaper carriers a gift or money at the holiday season

GOING OUT

  • tip a restaurant server 15% to 20% of the pre-tax bill
  • tip a restaurant steward 15% to 20% of the wine bill
  • tip a bartender or cocktail waitress $1 per round for small groups
  • tip a bartender or cocktail waitress 15% to 20% of the bill for large groups
  • tip a cloak room attendant 50 cents to $1 per coat
  • tip a restroom attendant only if a service provided (25 cents to $1)
  • tip an usher 50 cents to $1 per party
  • tip a casino dealer up to 10% of your winnings

SERVICES

  • tip hairstylists, barbers, and pet groomers 15% to 20% of the bill
  • tip nail technicians 15% to 20% of the bill
  • tip doormen $1 to $5, depending on the service
  • tip a tow truck driver $3 to $10, depending on the service
  • tip a grocery bagger $1-$2
  • tip a mover $20 to $50 per person, depending on the difficulty of the job

TRANSPORTATION

  • tip cab drivers 15% of the fare, no less than 25 cents
  • tip sleeping car attendant on a train $3 to $5 per day
  • tip a parking attendant $1
  • tip a limousine driver 20% of the bill
