     Enjoying The Garden

The beautiful weather has finally arrived, so it’s a great time be outside planting and enjoying the garden. Make it a stress free time by having your supplies organized and ready for use. Here is a fun way to accomplish that and help you get the most out of your gardening time.
Group Garden Tools

Gather all your garden-related tools and supplies in one location. Grouping them together makes it easier to see what you have and to assess them. This will save you the time and energy usually spent hunting down the desired tools.
Condition Of Tools

Assess the condition of all your tools. Are they in working condition or do they need repair? Did you use that fancy gadget you bought last year or did it sound a lot better than it worked? If it isn’t used anymore, find a neighbor/friend who might enjoy it.
Restore Tools

Restore all your tools to the proper condition. Sharpen tools with blades, oil moving parts, or repair broken pieces. Replenish items such as weed whacker string, yard debris bags, and garden ties. A great idea is to paint handles of tools with a bright paint, so they are easy to find when dropped in thick foliage.
Storage Zone

Determine a zone for storage. Store items close to where you will need them. This may be in the garage, patio or shed. Think about whether you have access to this area while you are still “muddy” from being in the garden.
Supplier Holders

Establish holders for supplies. A bin or bucket works well for keeping smaller tools together, and it makes transport to the garden and back easy. A standing or hanging wall rack holds larger tools safely and keeps them from becoming tangled with each other. Now that you have your tools ready to go and a system in place that is easy to maintain, all you have to do is sit back and enjoy your garden.
