I am sure we all have them -- odd pieces of memorabilia piled high and pictures still in the jackets from the photo shop dating back so many years the thought of organizing them seems completely overwhelming. Today, we are going to learn the different methods of storing and ORGANIZING your memorabilia and collectibles to properly PRESERVE them for years to come.
PHOTO BOXES
This option is for the person who would like to have CHRONOLOGICAL organization with their photos but doesn't feel the need to VIEW them regularly. Photo boxes are a quick and easy organizing alternative. They average $3 to $4 each and come in many decorative styles to suit your taste. For those crafty sorts, make your own stylish photo boxes from shoe boxes with your favorite fabric and spray adhesive or colorful contact paper.
PHOTO ALBUMS
This alternative is for the person who wants a VISUALLY organized photo history. When shopping for the proper photo album remember two words "acid-free". This will protect your precious memories for years to come.
SCRAPBOOKING
This preference takes your albums to the next level. This is for the person who is CREATIVE and crafty and wants to showcase a visually organized album that is fun to make and share with family and friends.
THINNING THE HERDS
When sorting through your photos remember it's alright to throw away DUPLICATE and similar pictures. If you have a hard time doing this, start an album using these duplicates and give it to a family member as a GIFT. Another way to showcase your precious photos is to use the extras to make mugs, calendars, t-shirts and mouse pads.
COLLECTIBLES
Many of us have family heirlooms and precious mementos that we do not display but would like to keep SAFE for generations to come. Here are some tips to safely store your treasures:
