This is an interview with ezine guru Terri Seymour -- with some tips on the best ways to increase your EXPOSURE on the web.
Q: TELL ME ABOUT YOUR EZINE SERVICES.
A: Our ezine is designed to help others get a start in the internet MARKETING business. I cover areas including ezine publishing, website promotion, getting subscribers, and much more. I also provide coaching and consulting services to actually work with you to start or build your business. Included in these services is a "streamline and define your promotion strategies" service. A lot of people really don't know where to START when it comes to promoting their business. We can help with this.
Q: WHAT IS THE KEY TO ELECTRONIC MARKETING?
A: Technology is a wonderful thing in that you can REACH people from all over the world with a touch of a finger. It is amazing for your business. Expanding your NETWORKING circle to all corners of the globe is they key. Talk to everyone you possibly can about what you do -- strike up partnerships with as many other electronic marketers as possible. This is the way to make the most of electronic marketing.
Q: HOW IMPORTANT IS THIS TO ENTREPRENEURS?
A: It is absolutely ESSENTIAL to entrepreneurs -- because a tremendous amount can be accomplished with very little manpower and very little INVESTMENT. No other marketing technique allows you to reach as many people so easily.
Q: HOW DO YOU HELP CLIENTS GET STARTED?
A: What I would do is create a PROFILE....which means, get their plans, goals, ideas and thoughts organized so they can actually be put into motion. Many people have tons of good ideas and plans, but just don't know where to go from there. After I set up the profile, we then would start a detailed program to turn those plans into actions. We start by looking at the various marketing strategies available - banner ads, affiliate links, ezine ad swaps, using opt-in mailing lists, etc. -- to see which are most APPROPRIATE for accomplishing that client's goals. Then we begin collecting resources and connecting with partners who can help.
Q: WHAT IS THE BIGGEST E-MARKETING MISTAKE?
A: I think a lot of people mistakenly think it is going to be FAST and EASY. They are led to believe that all they have to do is slap up a quick website and the money will start coming in. This is definitely not the case. This business requires a lot of time, work, commitment and passion to succeed!
Q: WHEN IS IT TIME TO EXPAND INTO E-MARKETING?
A: It's important to establish an ONLINE presence and begin making use of emails and fax blasts from the very beginning. There's no time like the present!
Q: ARE THERE ANY E-MARKETING GOLDEN RULES?
A: As you might know, our motto is the "Golden Rule" -- Treat others as you would have them treat you! I stress to all my associates, clients, contacts, etc. about the importance of treating others with RESPECT, and consideration. This means using integrity in your marketing efforts -- not spamming people or continuing to contact them when they've asked that you stop. There is nothing worse than making a potential customer angry because you overdid it with your enthusiasm. It also means creating a "win-win" situation for all your partners -- RECIPROCITY is key.
Q: ANY ADVICE FOR NEW ELECTRONIC MARKETERS?
A: You need to LEARN as much as you can, and talk to other entrepreneurs...they can be a tremendous help when learning the ins and outs of online and electronic marketing. Also, know what your plans and goals are -- and how you to want to achieve them. Use each OBSTACLE as a learning tool to make you stronger, more knowledgeable and more successful!
