Managing Client's Expectations

Presented at the 2005 National Association Of Professional Organizers conference, this 90-minute workshop will help you to clarify with your client exactly what can and will be accomplished within an organizing session. It is available as either an "instant download" audio recording (in MP3 format) or as a CD.

The client, upset with himself, stops his professional organizer on her way out the door. Because he had spent so much of the session time talking, the work on the spare bedroom hadn't been finished. It turns out he needed to get it done in time for weekend visitors. Although he's already paid for the session, he asks for an on-the-spot consultation on finishing the job himself. But there are steps you can take before and during the appointment to make sure you and your client are on the same page about what will -- and won't -- be accomplished during your session.
