Let's Get Real - Real Food That Is. . .
Have you ever reached for some energy from the vending machine? Or slurped up some confidence from a cup of coffee? Do you find yourself often looking for the next best way to either maintain or release weight, while all the time wondering why it is you just can't look and feel the way you'd like by eating plain old real food? Food affects you in every way, every day. You can't live without it, but for most of us, our relationship with it is more complicated than Brad Pitt's and Angelina Jolie's.
Work, family, commitments and responsibilities makes things even more complicated. In fact, we spend an inordinate amount of time thinking about eating - we stress, fear and obsess over it. We crave it and binge on it. We starve and deprive. Since we were kids, we've been fed values about food right along with our daily breakfast, lunch and dinner. We've assigned either positive or negative traits to certain foods based on what we think it will do to us.
Yet eating is the most natural thing in the world for us to do and should be the most simple. It's just food after all! If you'd like to simplify your relationship with eating, find out how you can eat REAL FOOD and release or maintain a healthy weight, stop depriving yourself and feeling guilty about what you eat and have more energy to run your life and your business.
But you have to get real. You have to dive deep into the belief systems that have been haunting you from childhood. Do you have any of these beliefs about health?
They sound like this: I have bad genes so I will never be thin... I have to work out for hours to be healthy and fit... I am not worthy... I don't have the time...I am too old to change... I attend too many meetings at work. . .I have to count calories and portion everything to lose weight... I have failed at everything else, so I am sure to fail at this.
There is so much conflicting information out there on eating clean and healthy. Even more confusing are the plethora of diet programs, supplements, potions, powders, and pills.
My question as a health coach (and organizer - we gotta keep things simple!) is why can't we just eat real food and get the benefits of a healthy body? Well, I know now that we can!
